Hello again I never got a chance to continue with this write up of three works of art that have impacted me heavily. Here is the seconth which is Do The Right Thing by Spike Lee. I had heard of this film preceding of actually watching it and I had no knowledge of it. I was turned onto Spike Lee by my Father I believe or just me 3 years ago on the beginnings of my love for the art form. I had always wanted to see it though. Especially since I had no knowledge of what it was about and what to expect. So last year I saw the film and I can proudly say it is the greatest film I’ve ever seen come out of North America. As of now anyway and I will of course explain why. The structure was one I had never seen. A series of interactions and events in the setting of Brooklyn New York. It’s the summertime and it’s expected to be the hottest one yet. We see these interactions mostly through the lens of Lee’s character and the many side characters he comes across. The energy is one of a striking realism I’ve never seen. Editing on a level fsr too superb. The whole city felt so real. I’ve never lived in New York especially not during this period but the times I’ve gone have been very Similar to the characteristics in this film. Overall it did enlighten me or awaken back an inspiration for current events which I still hold true . It is the only film where I’ve seen humanity showcased at it’s truest. A very desperate , encased and primal effect. That’s not all humanity is but those aspects are detailed perfectly. I’ve written about these film various time but the impact was immense. Since then I’ve kept track of how far humanity is going and how accurate it remains. The impact is indescribable but this was my attempt. Thank you Mr. Lee
